I'm in need of a mechanism design expert who can assist me in creating a small mechanism. The purpose of this mechanism is to move objects, and it will be operated manually. Key Responsibilities: - Detailed force analysis: An important aspect of this project is a comprehensive force analysis to ensure the mechanism functions as intended. Hand calculations to be included. - CAD Model: The CAD model should be of intermediate complexity with multiple components and moderate detailing. - Concept Sketches: Creating detailed concept sketches which will guide the design process. - Materials & BOM: Selection of materials suitable for the mechanism and creating a Bill of Materials. - FEA: Performing Finite Element Analysis to evaluate the performance and structural integrity of the design. - Cost Analysis: Conduct a cost analysis to ensure the design is feasible within budget constraints. Ideal Candidate: - Extensive experience in mechanism design, particularly those designed for moving objects. - Proficiency in CAD with the ability to create detailed and accurate models, particularly of intermediate complexity. - Capability in conducting force analysis and knowledge of the principles behind it. - Prior experience with FEA software and performing cost analyses. - Excellent communication skills to present the concept sketches and explain design choices. - A practical understanding of material properties and their applications in design.
